Activities
Kingsbury is conveniently situated
between Lake George and Saratoga Springs, in the Hudson Falls
Township. Locally-available outdoor activities range from boating,
golfing, hiking and horseback riding, to mountain climbing and
cross-country or downhill skiing! The
Saratoga Racetrack season runs
from the end of July through Labor Day, and is less than half
an hour’s ride from Kingsbury. It’s an hour to the ski slopes at
Killington and less than two hours to the lovely Adirondack Mountains
surrounding the Lake Placid area.
But the appeal of a relaxing country
experience may be all you’re really after. You can leave the cares of
family demands and the work world behind, while sitting on the porch
with a cold drink in the summer or a cup of hot cocoa in the fall. Enjoy a true farm experience with a visit
to Kingsbury Kows, the family-owned farm that shares the grounds of
the Kingsbury Country Inn.
Shoppers will be delighted with the choices of area stores. Travel a
few miles to the
outlet stores at Lake George’s Million Dollar Half
Mile or the Aviation Mall in Queensbury. Go a few miles further and
browse the lovely boutiques in
Bolton Landing or
Saratoga Springs.
Area museums run the gamut from the
Hyde Collection Art Museum and
Chapman Historical Museum in Glens Falls, to the
Fort William Henry
Museum, of James Fennimore Cooper fame, and the
Hall of Frankenstein
Wax Museum in Lake George. Our area is known for hosting Americade in
early June, the
Adirondack Balloon Festival each September,
the splendor of its foliage in the early fall, and, of course, the
depth of its snowfalls during its long skiing season!
